Kiril Aginsky
Equally at home in solo, chamber music, and orchestral settings, flutist Kiril Aginsky has been praised for his beautiful tone and unique interpretation. As a soloist Mr. Aginsky has appeared with different orchestras and ensembles, most notably with the Main Kammerorchester, the Salzburger Solisten, and the Hadera Symphony Orchestra. Recent orchestral activities include principal positions with the International Institute Attergau Orchestra, Kammeroper Frankfurt Orchestra, Russian Chamber Philharmonic of St. Petersburg, West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony and the Israeli Sinfonietta, to name a few. He has played under the buttons of conductors such as Christoph Eschenbach, Valery Gergiev, Zubin Mehta and Daniel Barenboim.
An avid chamber musician, Mr. Aginsky has collaborated with various ensembles and in numerous festivals. He played at the Berleburger International Musikfestwoche, the Chigiana festival in Siena, Casals Festival in Prades, Charterhouse International Music Festival in London, and was a founding member of both Tel Aviv Academy and Jerusalem Music Centre woodwind quintets.
Mr. Aginsky’s advance music studies were under the guidance of Dejan Gavric at the Johannes-Gutenberg-University Mainz, Prof. Paul Dahme at the Music Hochschule Frankfurt, Patrick Gallois at the Aulnay-sous-Bois Music Conservatory, and Eyal Ein-Habar at the Tel Aviv Music Academy. During his studies he participated in countless master classes, among them with Mathieu Dufour, Andrea Lieberknecht, Andreas Adorjan, Ural Nicolet and Marten Rout among others.
A winner of prizes and scholarships, Mr. Aginsky won first prizes at the Tel Aviv Academy and the Israeli Conservatory competitions, and in the years 1993-2003 was a winner of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation biannual scholarships. As a recipient of the Anni Eisler-Lehmann Foundation scholarships, Kiril Aginsky has served as the artistic director of the foundation’s concert series 2008-2010. Since 2012 Mr. Aginsky is the flutist in and artistic director of Copenhagen Festival Ensemble.
